I have been a fan of Karen's for a good while. I love her art & her teaching style. The art & lessons in this book are great and well worth the price I paid. I am very disappointed, however, in the grammatical errors found in the kindle version I bought. For instance, there are multiple sentences that had words out of order; some places that had extra words in sentence; all errors I noticed could have been easily caught in proofreading. There are dozens of errors, so many that it became extremely distracting to read. I assume the errors are due to formatting and I wish I had bought the paperback version rather than the kindle version. I will count this as a lesson learned and think twice before buying similar books in their kindle format.
I have a TON of art books and comparing this one to Jane Davenports and Tamara LaPorte's and others, this one is just the best. The photos are gorgeous! For fun I went and looked up all the links she gave to the projects (where links were given) and it was so neat to see the projects being made from scratch on my TV, so cool! The information is straight-forward and easy to understand and the projects are a nice broad range of easy to hard (and not all faces for once!). I'm going to grab one for my niece and my mom for Christmas this year, I think it's great for anyone interested in cool art at all levels. Hoping to save up money for the eCourse as well! Soon!
Karen Campbell has the best way of making you feel you can create all of her wonderful works. And the truth is, you can! She guides you step by step and the next thing you know - hot damn! - you're even more spectacular than you thought you we're! She's just that good!
This book is fantastic!! I was so excited to get it. The photographs of Karen’s artwork are just gorgeous. The book is so colorful, the instructions are easy to understand and it is so inspiring! After almost 30 years of pretending I didn’t care about creating art, Karen has inspired me to play and practice daily. A must have in your art collection.
Not a remarkable book. Instruction was infirmative, but doesn’t contain anything that I haven’t seen before in other books, or on the internet. A tad disappointing.
I bought the Kindle edition and I look forward to buying the book. The Kindle edition us okay but I do like to have a real book.
Love, love, love this book! So many great ideas. The instructions are thorough & easy to understand. The pictures are gorgeous. Karen is a wonderful teacher. I have most of her books, & have taken many of her online classes, & I’ve always been happy with them. Highly recommend this book!
This is a beautiful and helpful book with good tips and step by step pictures on how to practice mixed media using faces and figures. I bought it on my kindle and liked it so much that also purchased the hard copy.
